Child Safety Week 2017

29 May 2017

This year Child Safety Week’s theme is Sharing Is Caring. We all have a responsibility for preventing accidents, especially among children and vulnerable people, and nothing is more powerful than the voice of experience.

CAPT are asking friends, families, communities and professionals to show they care by sharing their knowledge of the simple and practical things that can help prevent accidents.

Events are being planned across the country by children’s centres, childminders, emergency services, hospitals, schools and many more. If you’d like to get involved then visit the CAPT website to look for events in your area or download their action pack.

Here at Somerset Road Safety, we will be continuing to highlight the dangers young people face around the roads, which are the biggest global killer of children over 10, and the biggest non medical risk to all young people. Whether it’s being a sensible passenger, practicing cycling skills, wearing a seatbelt, or simply following the green cross code, we have lots of advice on our website on how to keep young people safe around the roads.
