Casualties in the 60+ Age Group

Between 2008 and 2009 the number of people aged 60 years and over killed or seriously injured on Somerset roads rose by 73%.

The Route Sixty Plus programme was developed to address the issue of the high numbers of fatal or serious injuries in this age group and details can be found here.

In 2010 the number of car drivers killed or seriously injured in the 60+ age group fell by 47% when compared with figures for 2009.
